APS5- EL1 Project/Asset Management Accountants

Indigeco is supporting a major Commonwealth Government in sourcing multiple accounting & finance professionals.

This role is suited to an experienced senior finance professional with strong technical accounting, stakeholder engagement, leadership and reporting experience who can lead key project finance and asset management functions and support high-quality financial decision making.

We are seeking experienced candidates for the following role types:

• EL1 Management Accountant
• APS6 Management Accountant
• APS5 Management Accountant

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Depending on the role, responsibilities may include:

• Support management accounting, project finance, asset management and finance business partnering activities across a Commonwealth Government environment.
• Maintain accurate project actuals, budgets and forecasts in systems such as SAP and/or TM1, including cost centre maintenance and budget transfers.
• Prepare timely and accurate financial reports, dashboards, budget updates, variance analysis, journals and commentary for business areas, senior executives and governance committees.
• Support asset management activities including asset register maintenance, stocktakes, capitalisation, disposal, impairment, depreciation processes, asset movement tables and financial statement inputs.
• Provide quality financial advice and support to business stakeholders on financial planning, forecasting, costing, budget management and reporting requirements.
• Maintain effective stakeholder relationships, communicate financial information clearly to non-finance audiences and support continuous improvement of finance processes, documentation and reporting practices.

YOUR REQUIREMENTS
To be successful, candidates will require:

• Demonstrated experience in finance, accounting, management accounting, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, journals, variance analysis and financial commentary.
• Strong understanding of government financial management practices, with the ability to provide accurate, high-quality financial advice and reporting.
• Strong stakeholder engagement, communication, attention to detail and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and work with limited supervision.
• Experience with SAP and/or TM1 will be highly desirable, and tertiary qualifications in accounting, commerce, finance or a related discipline, including CPA/CA or progress towards CPA/CA, will be highly regarded.
