Senior Business Services Accountant | Top 20 Advisory Firm

We are partnering with a leading Top 20 accounting and advisory firm in Canberra experiencing strong growth across its Business Services division. The firm is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its high-performing Business Services & Advisory team during a period of continued expansion.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced public practice Accountant to step into a client-facing advisory role with clear progression into management within a supportive and collaborative environment.
The role offers exposure to a diverse portfolio of SME and privately owned clients, while providing strong mentoring, technical development and clear long-term career progression.

Working closely with Managers and Partners, you will gain advisory exposure beyond compliance work and play a key role in reviewing financial statements and building long-term client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparation and review of financial statements
• Preparation of tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships and individuals
• BAS, GST and compliance obligations
• Supporting tax planning and advisory work
• Managing client relationships and technical queries
• Working closely with Managers and Partners on complex matters
• Supporting junior team members where required

About You

• CA or CPA qualified or nearing completion
• 3+ years’ experience in Australian public practice
• Strong technical accounting and taxation knowledge
• Experience with Xero or cloud accounting systems
• Strong communication and client relationship skills
• Ambition to progress into leadership roles
