The opportunity

Join CSIRO Information Management and Technology (IMT) team to support cutting-edge scientific research at CSIRO. As part of IMT, you’ll help deliver critical ICT, scientific computing and application services that underpin CSIRO’s strategic objectives.

As the IMT Change Management Specialist, you’ll lead organisational change activities to support the delivery and adoption of IMT services across multiple, concurrent projects.

Working in an agile-paced environment, you’ll collaborate with a small team of change professionals within IMT to support delivering effective outcomes and stakeholder engagement.

High‑level duties include:
  • Navigate complex projects and changes involving multiple stakeholders spanning executive sponsors, senior leaders as well as impacted groups across CSIRO.
  • Undertake relevant change assessments to ensure that all project sponsors and stakeholders have a clear understanding of the people impact of changes brought about by IMT Projects.
  • Development and implementation of change plans, including communications and transition plans, with project stakeholders, Unit Leaders, Line Managers, Staff and others.
  • Work with the IMT Change Manager Team Lead, other Change Management experts in IMT, IMT Executive, Service owners and project managers to actively consult and engage with CSIRO Leaders and staff to identify, plan and deliver change brought about by IMT projects.
  • Working closely with colleagues in IMT to draft communications artefacts to support awareness and knowledge in relation to the IMT projects.
  • Support the development and management of project support materials such as reference guides, videos, knowledge portals, intranet pages.
  • In consultation with subject matter experts, assess the need for training and support the development and delivery of training materials.
Role particulars

Location and office arrangements: All Australian capital cities with CSIRO sites considered.

Salary: AU$118,102 – AU$127,808 per annum (pro rata for part-time), plus 15.4% superannuation

Essential Criteria
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or similar experience in a science or technology environment.
  • Relevant Organisational Change Management training/accreditation (e.g., PROSCI) and demonstrated ability to provide high-level change management leadership at all levels of an organisation.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the challenges and methodologies to ensure change management can be effectively delivered in an organisation.
  • High level of analytical and influencing skills to appeal to the interests of different teams and units to deliver the change management messaging (including communications and learning & development).
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills to effectively communicate and influence staff at all levels within CSIRO and externally, with the ability to produce quality presentations, reporting, change and process documentation for end users.
  • Adaptability and the confidence and ability to deal with ambiguity, and continually changing circumstances in a fast‑paced environment.
Desirable
  • Experience working with government agencies such as CSIRO or experience working with research organisations.
  • Experience embedding cyber security culture change programs.
