Express Employment Professionals Canberra is recruiting on behalf of a highly respected orthopaedic specialist practice located within a private hospital in Garran.

We are seeking a professional, organised and highly accurate Administration Officer to join a friendly and collaborative team.

Previous medical administration experience with strong administration skills, exceptional typing ability, accuracy, dictaphone and the capacity to learn quickly.

Hours of Work

Tuesday

  • 8:30am - 1:00pm

Wednesday & Thursday

  • 8:30am - 4:30pm

Friday

  • 8:30am - 3:00pm

About the Role

This is a varied administration and reception position where no two days are the same. You will be an important part of a small professional team, assisting with patient enquiries, appointment coordination, medical administration and day-to-day office operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greeting patients and providing professional front desk reception services

  • Answering telephone enquiries and managing incoming emails

  • Scheduling appointments and coordinating surgery bookings

  • Managing electronic and paper-based patient records

  • Processing invoices, receipting and EFTPOS transactions

  • Typing correspondence, letters and operation reports from Dictaphone recordings

  • Liaising with hospitals, operating theatres, medical professionals and insurers

  • Scanning, filing and general administrative support

  • End-of-day reconciliation and office administration duties

Key Requirements
  • Proven administration, reception or office support experience

  • Fast and accurate typing skills

  • Excellent spelling, grammar and written communication skills

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy

  • Demonstrated ability to multitask and manage competing priorities

  • Strong computer literacy and confidence learning new systems

  • Professional presentation and exceptional customer service skills

  • Ability to work independently and use initiative

  • Previous medical administration experience will be highly regarded

  • Current Police Check or willingness to obtain one

  • Full Australian working rights
