HorizonOne are excited to be partnering with Icon Water to recruit new team members into their Infrastructure Delivery Group.
About Icon Water
Wholly owned by the ACT Government, Icon Water has delivered essential services to Canberra for over 100 years. While primarily a water and sewerage provider, it also invests in electricity and gas through private partnerships, operating across both government and commercial sectors. Icon Water is focused on sustainability, playing a key role in addressing climate change, protecting the environment, and achieving net zero emissions by 2045.
Serving approximately 190,000 customers, the business manages over $3.2 billion in assets—including dams, treatment plants, reservoirs, and networks of mains and pumps—and generates around $490 million in annual revenue.
As the organisation continues to invest in its project delivery capability, the Integrated Program Management Office (IPMO) provides an enabling function to support project and program delivery across the business.
The Opportunity
This newly created Program Support Lead position has been established as part of that evolution and is offered as a two-year fixed-term contract with potential to transition into an ongoing role.
Joining the IPMO at a pivotal time, you will play a key role in its next phase of growth as it expands its support across infrastructure, digital and corporate projects.
With a new project management system being implemented and a strong focus on capability uplift, this is an opportunity to contribute to meaningful change while helping shape the future direction of the function.
The Role
As Program Support Lead, you will lead a small team of Program Support Officers while acting as a trusted business partner across Icon Water's project and program environment. Working across infrastructure, digital and corporate initiatives, you will support governance, reporting and project delivery across a diverse portfolio of work.
Key areas of focus will include:
You are an experienced PMO, program controls or project governance professional who thrives in complex environments. You bring strong stakeholder engagement skills, confidence in leading and developing staff, and the ability to balance attention to detail with a practical, solutions-focused approach.
Comfortable working through ambiguity, you know how to build relationships, influence outcomes and help project teams deliver successfully. Experience within infrastructure, utilities, government, engineering or other project-based environments will be highly regarded, as will a tertiary qualification in Project Management or a related discipline.
Salary / Rate
This role is being offered as full-time 2-year fixed term engagement with the potential to become permanent.
The salary band starts at $152,273k + 15% Super.
This role is based in Canberra, with an expectation of regular attendance in the office to support collaboration. Some flexibility may be available depending on business needs.
In addition to an attractive remuneration package, Icon Water offers a range of benefits, including career development opportunities, health and wellbeing initiatives, and salary sacrifice options.
