Position: APS3 Data Entry Officer

Location: Canberra, ACT

Start date: ASAP

Duration: Approx. 12 months with potential to extend

Pay rate: $48.60 per hour plus 12% super

Requirements: Must have high volume data entry experience to be considered for this position


Overview

Our Federal Government client is seeking an APS3 Data Entry Officer to support the delivery of a significant commemorative records project. This role will contribute to the accurate transfer, verification, and maintenance of historical information to support the production of commemorative materials and associated project activities.

Working under general direction, the successful candidate will use photographs and approved source material to enter, check, and validate data while supporting records management, quality assurance, and project delivery activities. This position requires strong attention to detail, sound organisational skills, and the ability to consistently produce accurate work within established procedures and timeframes.

 
Responsibilities

  • Undertake routine, high-volume data entry and records management tasks with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Use photographs and approved source material to accurately transfer information into spreadsheets and approved systems.
  • Check and verify data to ensure records remain complete, consistent, and reliable.
  • Support quality assurance activities by identifying and correcting errors and inconsistencies.
  • Follow established procedures and standard operating processes while exercising sound judgement within defined parameters.
  • Manage and prioritise workloads to meet project deadlines and operational requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of completed work and provide progress updates to senior team members.
  • Work collaboratively within a team environment and contribute positively to project outcomes.
  • Utilise spreadsheets and digital systems to manage, update, and maintain information.
  • Identify process issues and escalate risks or concerns appropriately.
  • Support project and procurement activities through accurate administration and information management.
  • Undertake additional duties as required to support project delivery and organisational objectives.
Experience/Requirements
  • Demonstrated experience in data entry or records management environments.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accuracy while undertaking high-volume work.
  • Ability to follow established procedures and apply sound judgement within defined guidelines.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet agreed timeframes.
  • Experience using spreadsheets, databases, and digital systems to manage and maintain accurate records.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to provide clear updates and escalate issues appropriately.
  • Ability to work independently under general direction while contributing effectively within a team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify errors, inconsistencies, and process improvement opportunities.
  • A methodical and professional approach to handling sensitive or confidential information.
  • Commitment to quality assurance, continuous improvement, and maintaining high standards of accuracy.
  • Ability to adapt to new systems, processes, and business requirements as required.
 
Mandatory Requirement
  • Must be an Australian citizen at time of application
  • Ability to work onsite in Canberra, ACT.
  • Must have the ability to obtain/maintain a minimum Baseline security clearance
