Key Responsibilities

  • Day-to-day management of the finance function including account oversight and reconciliation, payroll governance and ATO obligations

  • Provide detailed monthly analysis and reporting of finance performance to CEO & Finance Sub-Committee

  • Manage the Organisations Insurance requirements including submission of the annual renewal, management of claims and on-going relationship with brokers and underwriters

  • Oversee annual external finance audit – ensure sound record management and preparation to ensure satisfactory audit outcomes and financial statement availability for AGM and other governance deadlines

  • Assist CEO and Management Team with budgets, project acquittals, compliance and registration submissions

  • Award interpretation and payroll compliance

  • Strengthening controls, governance and risk management frameworks

  • Systems improvement and automation

Key Requirements

  • Must hold Tertiary Qualifications in Accounting

  • Must have Australian permanent residency or citizenship

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years' accounting experience ideally in the Community / Not for Profit sector

Skills and Attributes

  • Strong background in accounting software (MYOB preferred)

  • Mandatory proficiency in MYOB accounting software required

  • Strong skills in MS Office suite applications

  • Background in Community Housing and / or residential tenancy management an advantage

  • Excellent Communicator and Leadership qualities

  • Appetite for technology and process improvement
