About The Role

Hilltops Council is seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer to join its management team in Young, NSW. Reporting to the Director Corporate & Community, you will provide strategic and operational leadership across the Council's finance function while helping shape the long-term financial direction.

Your Role and Responsibilities
  • Lead Council's financial planning, budgeting, reporting, and sustainability initiatives.
  • Provide strategic financial advice to the Council and key stakeholders.
  • Lead audit processes and ensure compliance with legislative and reporting requirements.
  • Drive improvements in financial reporting, business intelligence, and decision-making capability.
  • Lead and develop a multidisciplinary finance team.
The Leader We're Looking For
  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Commerce, Finance, or a related discipline with CPA or CA accreditation.
  • A minimum of 5 years' local government experience in a senior finance leadership role is essential.
  • Extensive experience in local government financial management and statutory reporting.
  • Strong understanding of NSW Local Government legislation, regulations, and reporting requirements.
  • Expertise in long-term financial planning, budgeting, rating, and revenue management.
