This is a great opportunity for a capable and curious Business Analyst to join Kinetic IT and work closely with a Federal Government customer in an Enterprise Service Management environment with SIAM delivery focus.

You’ll be the go-to for translating functional specifications into clear insights that guide project delivery and continuous improvement initiatives. You’ll evaluate systems and business needs, work across users, practice and specialist teams, and help document interfaces between systems and processes to shape practical solutions and support sound decision-making.

We’re open to candidates based in Melbourne, Brisbane or Canberra. The role operates in a hybrid arrangement, with a mix of office and home-based work and flexibility across the region to support the team and customer environment.

Responsibilities
  • Act as the liaison between business users and project / process owner teams, facilitating effective communication, managing expectations, and ensuring a common understanding of requirements.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand needs, identify pain points, and gather requirements for projects and improvement opportunities.
  • Analyse existing business processes and systems to identify areas for improvement. Document requirements, functional specifications, and use cases to guide development and system enhancements.
  • Create and maintain technical and/or user documentation to a high standard, including specification for solutions.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Australian citizenship, with current Federal Government Clearances.
  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst delivering process and systems‑related work in a service delivery environment.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to build trust, navigate ambiguity and work confidently across diverse teams and priorities.
  • Understanding of SIAM, ITIL or similar Enterprise Service Management environments will be highly regarded.
  • Experience with ServiceNow or comparable platforms is a nice to have, but this is not a heavily technical tool‑specific role.
Benefits
  • Growth‑focused culture – Formal training, mentoring, vendor exam support, communities of practice and regular development reviews.
  • Advance your career – Access new roles via our internal ‘Opportunity Marketplace’ careers hub.
  • Flex your work – Hybrid options, flexible hours, mobility and part‑time roles (customer needs permitting) and a variety of leave options (including paid parental leave and purchased leave) to suit your needs
  • Celebrate together – Social events, cultural celebrations, end‑of‑year functions, DEI belonging events and more.
  • Wellbeing matters – Health and wellness resources and events, free skin and health checks, free flu shots, tailored leave and support options, free and confidential EAP and access to Fitness Passport.

As an equal opportunity employer, we welcome people of all abilities, backgrounds, cultures, and genders. We’re proud to be an Indigenous and Veteran‑friendly employer.
