Centre Director

We are seeking a high-calibre leader, experienced and passionate Centre Director/Nominated Supervisor to lead our beautiful purpose-built exceeding service in the heart of Belconnen.

Working closely with the Approved Provider, you will play a key role in leading our team, driving quality outcomes, supporting families, and ensuring every child experiences a safe, nurturing, and inspiring early learning environment. You will be supported by a high staff retention team, and experienced and collaborative leadership team, including a dedicated Educational Leader, Floor Supervisor, and Company Compliance Officer, allowing you to focus on leading the service, mentoring educators, supporting families, and driving quality outcomes across the centre.

Buds & Bees Early Learning Centre is a family-owned and operated early learning service located in Belconnen Town Centre. Licensed for 100 children across four learning environments, our purpose-built centre has been thoughtfully designed to provide high-quality education and care in a welcoming and engaging setting. We are proud to be rated Exceeding National Quality Standard and are committed to fostering meaningful relationships with children, families, educators, and the close community.

About the role

We're looking for a leader who will continue to nurture and strengthen our established team, champion high-quality educational practices, support ongoing professional growth, and build on our culture of excellence. You will inspire educators, foster strong relationships with families, and lead continuous improvement to ensure the best outcomes for children, families, and our community.

What You'll Be Doing

• Lead by example and inspire a team of dedicated educators

• Supporting pedagogy, programming, and quality improvement

• Building strong partnerships with children, families, and the community

• Maintaining compliance with the National Quality Framework

• Supporting educator growth through mentoring and professional development

• Driving a positive workplace culture where everyone feels valued and supported

• Overseeing centre operations, occupancy, and service excellence

• Leading continuous improvement initiatives and preparing for Assessment and Rating

What You’ll Bring

  • Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care (or ACECQA-approved equivalent) (Bachelors Highly Desirable )

  • Previous experience in a leadership or management role

  • Strong knowledge of the National Quality Framework and Child Safe Standards

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills

  • Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma & Anaphylaxis certificates

  • Child Protection qualification (CHCPRT025 or equivalent)

Prefer to work independently rather than lead and support a team

Struggle to adapt to the changing needs of children, families, and service operations

Are not confident communicating with families, educators, and regulatory authorities

View compliance and quality improvement as a task rather than an opportunity for growth

Are uncomfortable providing feedback, coaching, and support to educators

Prefer a role with limited responsibility for leadership, culture, and service operations

Can't work on floor if required
