Laundromat Manager

VARIED BIZ GROUP PTY LTD trading as Spin and Shine is seeking an experienced and motivated Laundromat Manager to oversee the daily operations of our Canberra-based laundromats. The successful applicant will be responsible for managing staff, ensuring excellent customer service, coordinating equipment maintenance, monitoring inventory and supplies, handling customer enquiries, and supporting business growth. The role also involves ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety requirements while maintaining efficient and profitable business operations.

Task & responsibilities

• Plan, organise and manage the day-to-day operations of the laundromat.
• Supervise and coordinate staff, including recruitment, training, performance management and rostering.
• Ensure exceptional customer service standards are maintained at all times.
• Monitor business performance, prepare operational reports and implement strategies to improve efficiency and profitability.
• Manage inventory levels and arrange procurement of detergents, cleaning products, laundry supplies and other consumables.
• Oversee the maintenance and operation of washing machines, dryers, payment systems and other equipment.
• Coordinate repairs and preventative maintenance with external contractors and suppliers.
• Handle customer enquiries, complaints and service issues in a professional manner.
• Develop and implement marketing and promotional activities to increase customer engagement and revenue.
• Manage cash handling, banking, financial reconciliations and record keeping.
• Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements and relevant business regulations.
• Establish and maintain relationships with commercial laundry clients and service providers.
• Monitor service quality and implement continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualification & experience

• Diploma qualification or at least three years of relevant management experience.
• Demonstrated experience in business operations, retail, hospitality, customer service or laundry service management.
• Strong leadership and staff management skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
• Sound organisational, problem-solving and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple operational functions
