About the role:

We have an exciting job opportunity for a Cert 3 or Diploma Traineeship in Early Childhood and Education position, you will be working in a wonderful small local community with great opportunities to incorporate community and transitional to school learning due to the strong partnerships with the Sutton area. (Only 10 Min from Canberra) You will be part of a small team that offers a fun, relaxed and family like environment that has a strong sense of collaboration, belonging and partnership.

Applicants must be 18+ years of age to be eligible for this traineeship position.

The exciting trainee role will see you directly working with children aged 3-5 years old across five days a week, Monday - Friday between the working hours of 7:30am-5:30pm working 7.5 hours each day. During your working hours you will have opportunities to engage in a weekly 2hour study time to help support your completion of your traineeship.

Please note working days and hours can be flexible for the right candidate which will be discussed during your interview.

Upon completion of your traineeship there is a possibly opportunities for you to grow as an educator such as study your Diploma in early childhood and education or Study your Early childhood degree which will allow further job roles within the service and industry.

Country Bumpkins Early Learning Centre Cert 3 trainee/Diploma Trainee Requirements:
  • A passion to educate and care for children

  • A willingness to study, learn and work within a team environment

  • An approachable, friendly and positive attitude

  • The ability to have fun and enjoy the company of children

  • Permanent residency in Australia is desired

  • Australian citizenship or permanent residency is required for this position

  • obtain before commencement of employment an NSW approved working with children check.

  • The ability to drive as there is no public transport in the area.

  • Ability to work in a team with understanding of different perspectives and ideas.

  • Rotating flexible roster.

  • A small community that you can be involved with.

  • Work environment that feels like home.

  • awareness of The Childcare Safety Standards.

About us:

Country Bumpkins Early Learning Centre is a small privately own early childhood centre located in Sutton NSW- only 10 minutes from the ACT border. Sutton is located in a small rural community that has a bakery, post office, local school, church, playgrounds, art galleries and much more.

Country Bumpkins has been operating for 12 years catering for children aged 3 – 5 years old. Country Bumpkins is a 30 placed centre per day offering two educational programs between the following age groups, 3 -4 years old and 4 – 5 years old. Country Bumpkins works in partnership with the local community and school to support, development and implement curriculums for these two ages groups.

Country Bumpkins values our strong community connection and continues to strengthen through supporting the community in various ways.

General responsibilities:
  • Foster positive and co-operative relationships with staff, families, children and the community.

  • Assist in the Quality Improvement Plan development.

  • Ensure that you can provide a warm, caring and nurturing environments.

  • Assist in the delivery of educational programs for all age groups.

  • Assist in planning learning environments, setting up activities, preparing and cleaning away materials and supplies.

  • Ensure a high level of health & childcare safety standards are maintained at all times.

  • Maintain positive working relationships with team members.

  • Create a friendly, secure and stimulating interactive learning environment.

  • Ensure documentation is provided for all children's emerging interests and skills.
