Role and Responsibilities
As a Systems Engineer, you will be part of a high‑performing engineering delivery team supporting the sustainment and evolution of complex systems. You will operate under general direction and be responsible for the reliable execution of assigned systems engineering activities across investigation, analysis, design, and change implementation within established engineering and assurance frameworks.
- Conduct engineering investigations and systems analysis to support defect resolution, capability enhancements, sustainment decisions, and system changes.
- Define, develop, and implement Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) through established engineering gates and assurance processes.
- Develop and maintain systems engineering documentation, including requirements, design artefacts, impact assessments, and traceability evidence.
- Collaborate with configuration management, architects, engineers, and stakeholders to support change control, configuration integrity, and delivery outcomes.
- Support verification, validation, and technical risk management activities, including issue escalation and design justification.
- Ensure compliance with security, quality, engineering governance, project management, and ITIL‑aligned service management frameworks while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Engineering, Information Technology, or related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
- Demonstrated systems engineering experience within complex project, sustainment, enterprise, Defence, or government environments.
- Strong understanding of systems engineering principles, lifecycle management, requirements analysis, and system design in secure environments.
- Experience supporting engineering assurance, verification and validation, configuration management, and engineering change processes.
- Proven ability to manage technical risks, contribute to engineering decision‑making, and work across multiple stakeholders and technical domains.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience working in Agile or hybrid delivery environments and producing high‑quality engineering documentation.
