Brew N Brew Café and Bar is seeking a motivated and skilled Cook to join its kitchen team on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will prepare and present high-quality meals, support daily kitchen operations and maintain exceptional food safety and quality standards in a busy café environment. The role offers the opportunity to work with fresh produce and contribute to an innovative all-day menu.

Task & responsibilities

  • Prepare, season and cook a variety of café-style meals and menu items in accordance with recipes and customer orders.
  • Ensure dishes are presented to a high standard of quality, consistency and visual appeal.
  • Monitor food preparation and cooking processes to maintain product quality and minimise waste.
  • Assist with planning menus and contribute ideas for seasonal specials and menu improvements.
  • Store food safely and ensure ingredients are handled in accordance with food safety and hygiene requirements.
  • Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering, receiving and rotating kitchen supplies.
  • Maintain a clean, organised and efficient kitchen environment in compliance with workplace health and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with chefs and front-of-house staff to ensure timely service and customer satisfaction.
  • Support and provide guidance to junior kitchen staff where required.
  • Assist in maintaining records relating to food preparation, stock usage and kitchen operations.

Qualification & experience

  • Relevant Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or higher qualification is preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience as a Cook in a café, restaurant or similar hospitality environment.
  • Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods and presentation standards.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork and time management skills.
  • Food safety and hygiene certification, or willingness to obtain, will be highly regarded.
