Downer Professional Services comprises of three business units our Technical, Advisory, and Capability consulting practice, and Team Downer, which partners with CASG and NSSG as a major service provider to Defence. Together, we are a multi-disciplinary advisory and delivery partner of choice for clients across Defence and National Security.
We are seeking an experienced Security - Sustainment & Support SME to support the LAND 4140 Battle Management System program. Working within a complex Defence environment, you will provide specialist security advice across sustainment and support activities, ensuring ongoing compliance, certification and operational effectiveness of the capability.
What You'll Do
This role offers a broad scope, with key role responsibilities including:
Lead security assurance activities across sustainment and support elements of the LAND 4140 BMS capabilityVerify system security requirements and provide technical assurance for certification and accreditation activitiesReview, develop and maintain system security documentation, including certification artefactsConduct threat modelling, vulnerability assessments and security risk assessmentsContribute to system security architecture and integration activitiesEnsure compliance with Defence security frameworks including ISM, PSPF and DSPFSupport Cyber Supply Chain Risk Management (CSCRM) activitiesAnalyse functional and non‑functional performance specifications and update relevant documentationReview and manage security requirements using DOORS and associated artefactsWork closely with the Security Manager, Project Managers and Defence stakeholders to deliver secure outcomes
What You'll Bring
Extensive experience in security and/or cyber security roles within complex environments (8+ years)Strong understanding of Defence security frameworks, including ISM, PSPF and DSPFDemonstrated experience supporting system certification and accreditation activitiesProven ability to analyse, assess and manage cyber and system security risksStrong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence technical and non‑technical audiencesExcellent written and verbal communication skills, including technical documentationPostgraduate qualifications in Cyber Security, ICT Management or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
Due to the nature of the work, you are required to currently hold and maintain a minimum Negative Vetting 2 or higher Security clearance as required by the Commonwealth. In some instances, compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements may also be an inherent requirement.
