Business Development Manager - Defence (Aerospace)

Senior business development lead for a global defence company with a local footprint, delivering cutting‑edge capability and services across Air, Land, Cyber and Maritime domains. With a strong heritage in aerospace, aviation and maritime sustainment.

The Role:

You’ll lead client engagement and strategic growth activity across the Aerospace & Maritime sectors, understanding drivers, shaping requirements, and strengthening relationships and influencing outcomes with key Defence and Civil customers. This is a hands‑on, high‑visibility role where you’ll identify new opportunities, guide major bids and elevate the company’s market presence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Shape and contribute to strategic business development and sales objectives.
  • Lead major tender responses (RFT/RFQ) from development to submission.
  • Develop responses to RFIs and client enquiries.
  • Identify, pursue and report new business opportunities across Defence and Civil markets.
  • Build strong customer relationships and implement targeted Key Account Plans.
  • Deliver market, competitor and trend analysis to inform strategy.
  • Promote the company’s offering across accounts, markets and stakeholder groups.
  • Support marketing initiatives including annual targets, pipelines, budgets and social media campaigns.
  • Participate in Business Winning and Life Cycle Management processes, working closely with engineering and project teams.
What You Bring:
  • 7‑10+ years Sales & Marketing experience in the Aerospace, aviation and Defence sector.
  • Deep understanding of aircraft or maritime sustainment, through‑life support, MRO, training and simulation.
  • Experience working with platform manufacturers.
  • Australian NV1 (or higher) security clearance.
