The Role
Our wholesale team is looking for a passionate Production Roaster & Warehouse Support to join the ONA community as part of our Roast Team. This is a full-time role based out of our headquarters in Fyshwick, Canberra, where you will play a key role in contributing to production.
Responsibilities
The Production Roaster & Warehouse Support is responsible for roasting coffee in order to meet daily production schedule requirements, under the direction of the Head Roaster. The role involves unload and receipt of deliveries, monitoring stock levels of green coffee, and ensuring proper storage in the warehouse. The Production Roaster works collaboratively with their team to adjust roasts as necessary based on regular quality checks. They will develop their sensory and roaster skills by participating in quality control activities. The Production Roaster operates production machinery and alongside their team maintains the equipment.
This position requires attention to detail, teamwork, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
What You'll Bring
Mechanical aptitude: Comfortable with setting up and operating roasting equipment, as well as performing basic maintenance and troubleshooting. Attention to detail to uphold consistency and accuracy of roast profiles on equipment.
Sensory skills: Willingness to develop roasting and sensory skills through ongoing training and quality activities. Contribute to quality control activities to ensure that flavour profiles meet quality standards.
Organisation and time management: Ability to efficiently manage daily roasting tasks, track consumables, and meet tight deadlines for production.
Problem-solving skills: Ability to identify issues with machines or processes and take initiative to find solutions to minimise downtime.
Teamwork and communication: Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with your team, and assist with various tasks as needed.
