Through sustained growth and in support of our strategy for expansion, we are looking for skilled and experienced Business Analysts to Join Chalfont on a permanent full time basis to drive high-impact digital transformation initiatives across diverse, high profile Federal Government and Defence portfolios.

We are a deeply culturally driven organisation on the hunt for "good humans" to join our growing team. At Chalfont, we value authenticity, courage, and comradery above all else. We believe our most important job isn't just project delivery, it's giving our clients absolute confidence, building momentum, and ensuring visibility in an ever evolving digital landscape. Here, your talents are celebrated, your potential is nurtured, and you can participate in a truly supportive workplace of like-minded individuals.

The successful candidate will support a culturally enriched and driven workplace of driven ICT professionals across a number of strategic federal government clients. Enjoy the stability of permanent employment, coupled with opportunities for continuous career growth and professional development and working collaboratively within our team delivering strategic digital transformation outcomes for our clients.

As the Business Analysis, you will:

  • Engage with senior stakeholders across various clients to elicit, analyse and map complex business and technical requirements into viable digital transformation solutions.
  • Lead requirements elicitation and high-level workshop facilitation with diverse stakeholders to map complex current-state ("as-is") and design optimized future-state ("to-be") business processes using standard modelling notations (such as BPMN) and structured templates. Foster strong, collaborative relationships with cross-functional technical teams and business change champions.
  • Bridge the gap between strategic business objectives and technical execution across multi-hybrid cloud environments and modern enterprise software deployments. Deliver complex technical requirements into structured Agile artefacts, including epics, user stories, and robust acceptance criteria, collaborating closely with solution architects, security specialists and technical experts across diverse delivery teams.
  • Collaborate within Agile delivery frameworks to manage product backlogs, develop robust user stories, and streamline workflows utilizing project management tools such as Azure DevOps.
  • Champion end-to-end documentation discipline, managing product backlogs, balancing business value with technical dependencies, and conducting SQL-based data validation and testing support.
  • Utilize user-centred design principles to develop data models, wireframes, personas, and user journey maps that ensure technology investments align seamlessly with end-user needs.

Expertise demonstrated by successful candidates are inclusive of but not limited to:

  • Deep familiarity with the Microsoft ecosystem and cloud environments. Strong proficiency using Azure DevOps for user story creation, backlog prioritisation and workflow tracking. Sound knowledge of ITIL/ITSM frameworks, Zero Trust architectures, or modern observability tooling is highly desirable.
  • Experience and familiarity with designing and mapping detailed data models, entity-relationship diagrams (ERDs), system logic, and source-to-target data mappings to support downstream business intelligence platforms.
  • Proven experience operating as a Business Analyst or Senior Business Analyst within complex, enterprise-class environments-ideally within an Australian Federal Government agency or a major Defence environment. Demonstrated capability supporting large-scale digital transformations, website developments, or cloud migration programmes across the full SDLC.
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and presentation skills, with a proven ability to manage competing priorities across multiple business areas. A solid understanding of Commonwealth governance and cyber security frameworks (including the ISM, Essential 8, PSPF, and Identity and Access Management technologies).
  • Experience across a variety of delivery contexts including brownfield and greenfield digital transformation programs leveraging Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Experience, willingness and ability to cross leverage themselves across different disciplines including testing, business architecture, data analysis, product ownership, service design and UI/UX design.
