Network and Software Professional

As a result of a secured engagement with one of our Defence industry partners, Helix requires the interest of multiple Engineers to join this top tier defence industry client. 

We're looking for an ICT gun with Networking and Software development skills with proven experience of solving complex problems, who thrive working as part of a team to push boundaries and are passionate about leveraging technology to produce world-class outcomes for critical defence and national security customers.  

Work from home and Remote working options available. 

*NV2 clearance is a minimum requirement for this environment. 

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the primary point of contact for operational ICT support, liaising with Defence stakeholders, Defence technical teams, and Defence industry partners.
• Deliver ICT training, coaching, and mentoring to enhance workforce capability and technical proficiency.
• Provide operational support and sustainment for ICT systems, ensuring availability, reliability, and performance.
• Support governance, policy, compliance, and assurance activities in accordance with organisational requirements.
• Manage sustainment and testing activities for operational and emerging ICT capabilities.
• Coordinate vendor support services and sustainment arrangements, ensuring contractual obligations and service levels are achieved.
• Lead training, sustainment planning, and capability delivery activities for enterprise ICT systems.
• Maintain accountability for security-related assets and coordinate technical maintenance activities.
• Ensure ICT systems maintain compliance with accreditation, security, and industry standards.
• Conduct Verification and Validation (V&V) activities and support system integration and interoperability initiatives.
• Manage defects and issues through formal processes and develop user requirements to address capability gaps, enhancements, and continuous improvement opportunities.
• Provide technical advice and recommendations to stakeholders on ICT capability sustainment, assurance, and operational effectiveness.

Essential Skills and Experience

• Demonstrated experience as an ICT professional with expertise in Network Engineering, Network Operations, Software Engineering, or related disciplines within complex enterprise Defence environments.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
• Strong understanding of ICT sustainment, system assurance, governance, compliance, and lifecycle management principles.
• Proven experience supporting accreditation activities, system assurance, and compliance with industry standards and frameworks.
• Experience in Verification and Validation (V&V), system integration, interoperability testing, and capability assurance activities.
• Knowledge of governance, procurement, and service management frameworks within large organisations.
• Demonstrated experience supporting ICT sustainment, testing, evaluation, and capability enhancement activities.
• Experience working with secure ICT environments and managing security-sensitive assets and information.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across business, technical, and vendor teams.
• Proven ability to apply a practical, risk-based approach to problem solving, capability sustainment, and operational support.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including technical documentation, reporting, briefing preparation, and advisory services.
• Ability to work independently while managing competing priorities in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
