Support the procurement function behind Australia's global operationsAn exciting opportunity exists for a Procurement Officer to join a high-performing ICT commercial and procurement team within a major Commonwealth agency with a significant international presence.
This role sits within a specialised team responsible for the procurement and contract management of a large ICT workforce supporting critical technology services across Australia and a global network of overseas operations.
Working alongside procurement specialists, business stakeholders and industry partners, you will contribute to the delivery of ICT procurement activities that underpin major government technology programs and services.

The Role
As a Procurement Officer, you will support the end-to-end procurement and contract administration of a substantial ICT contractor workforce and assist with the delivery of new procurement activities.
You will work closely with internal business areas, technical teams and external suppliers to ensure procurement activities are compliant, efficient and deliver value for money outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support ICT procurement activities from planning through to contract management
  • Prepare and review procurement documentation, including:
    • Requests for Quote (RFQs)
    • Work Orders
    • Purchase Orders
    • Procurement approvals
    • Contract documentation
  • Assist with labour hire procurement processes and contractor administration
  • Undertake supplier and commercial analysis to support value-for-money assessments
  • Review business requirements and identify appropriate procurement approaches
  • Engage with vendors and support supplier relationship management activities
  • Provide procurement advice to stakeholders across the organisation
  • Maintain procurement and contract records within enterprise systems
  • Support reporting, compliance and governance activities
About You
You may already have experience in Commonwealth procurement, ICT procurement or contract administration, or you may be looking to further develop your procurement career within a large and complex government environment.
To be successful you will bring:
  • Experience in procurement, contract management, administration or commercial support
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Sound judgement and attention to detail
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
  • Knowledge of Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPRs) or a willingness to develop expertise in this area
  • Strong written skills and experience preparing documentation
  • Experience using SAP, ERP systems or financial systems will be highly regarded
  • Experience supporting ICT procurement activities will be advantageous
Security Requirements
Applicants must hold a minimum NV1 Security Clearance
