Plumbers and Journeyman Plumbers

About the role

Coopers Plumbing and Irrigation Pty Ltd is seeking experienced Plumbers and Journeyman Plumbers to join our growing team. This is a full-time position offering the opportunity to work on a diverse range of commercial and residential plumbing projects. As a key member of our plumbing team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality plumbing services, maintaining professional standards, and contributing to the continued success of our operations in the Canberra region.

Key responsibilities

1. Install, repair and maintain plumbing systems in residential and commercial properties

2. Diagnose plumbing issues and provide effective solutions to customers

3. Read and interpret plumbing plans and specifications

4. Ensure all work complies with relevant Australian plumbing codes and standards

5. Use a range of plumbing tools and equipment safely and effectively

6. Test plumbing systems to ensure they function correctly

7. Communicate professionally with customers and provide advice on plumbing maintenance

8. Maintain a clean and safe work environment on all job sites

9. Potentially mentor and support apprentices or junior plumbers where applicable

What we're looking for

1. Current plumbing qualification or trade certification recognised in Australia

2. Proven experience as a plumber or journeyman plumber in the residential and/or commercial sector

3. Strong knowledge of Australian plumbing codes, standards and regulations

4. Proficiency with plumbing tools, equipment and testing devices

5. Ability to read and interpret technical plumbing drawings and specifications

6. Sound problem-solving skills and attention to detail

7. Excellent communication and customer service skills

8. A valid driver's licence and own reliable transport

9. Current First Aid certification is desirable

10. Experience in gas fitting or irrigation systems would be advantageous
